A Creative Problem Solver with a Passion for Technology and Finance
So, Who is Nick?
Well, I’m Manik Jindal—though most people just call me Nick! I’m a Computer Science and Finance double major at the University of South Florida. I have a knack for turning complex problems into creative, real-world solutions, especially in the world of AI and software development. Whether it's building an AI-driven financial app or exploring new ways to automate systems, I’m always ready to dive deep into the tech space.
Academic Background
Now, let’s talk a bit about what brought me here. I’m currently studying at USF, where I’m balancing my two passions—Computer Science and Finance—with a solid 3.61 CS GPA. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate enough to be part of the Honors College and was awarded the Green and Gold Presidential Scholarship. My studies give me a unique edge, helping me merge tech and finance in innovative ways.
Key Projects and Experiences
Okay, let’s get to the fun part—what I’ve been working on. Here are some of the projects that I’m really proud of:
Wallot: I built an AI-powered app that helps recommend stocks using GPT-4 and real-time data. It’s all about making smarter financial decisions, faster.
Touchdown: This one’s a little different. I co-founded a drone-powered delivery service aimed at automating deliveries. Think UberEats but with drones—way cooler, right?
AI Society at USF: As the president and founder, I lead over 200 members in organizing workshops and pushing forward AI research. It’s been an exciting journey connecting with others who share my passion.
What Drives Me
So, why do I do what I do? To put it simply: I love tech, and I love solving problems. AI is such a powerful tool for changing the way we approach everything—from making better decisions in finance to improving everyday tasks like deliveries. I’m always looking for ways to push boundaries and create solutions that are innovative, efficient, and, most importantly, useful.
Future Goals
Where am I headed? Right now, I’m on the hunt for a Summer 2024 internship where I can take my skills to the next level. I’m excited about diving deeper into AI, machine learning, and software development. In the future, I see myself leading teams that create tech solutions that make a real difference in people’s lives.
Personal Interests/ Life outside College
When I’m not coding or brainstorming my next project, you’ll probably find me playing chess, trying out new workout routines, or exploring the latest tech gadgets. On weekends, I love to unwind by heading outdoors, enjoying sunsets, or traveling to new places.
I’m also a fan of hitting the clubs and partying occasionally to recharge after a busy week.
I’m passionate about dog sitting and playing with animals, and I even enjoy a bit of horse riding when I get the chance. My creative side comes out when I’m writing thriller screenplays, playing the ukulele, or experimenting with unique hairstyles.
You might catch me solving Leetcode problems or diving deep into thought-provoking YouTube videos from channels like Vsauce and Veritasium. I also love keeping up with current events, watching the news, and playing volleyball.
I’m all about staying curious and pushing my limits—whether that’s through tech or life in general
